Results of the 2023 NATP Tax Professional Fee StudyBy: National Association of Tax Professionals
August 5, 2023

Every other year, NATP conducts a study to help members determine if they are charging appropriate fees for their services. The study also includes information to help gauge past and future trends tax pros are seeing, such as hiring more staff, offering additional services, etc.

We gathered and analyzed the data from our 2023 Tax Professional Fee Survey, which includes a summary of the most critical details relating to what you charge for professional services.

The information provided gives members a distinct advantage over other tax pros in their geographic area who are not NATP members. Knowledge is power and knowing what your peers charge gives you the power to be competitive with your pricing while still earning what you’re worth.

This year’s Tax Professional Fee Study also showed many tax professionals are undercharging their clients compared to their competitors, which leaves room for increasing fees. However, this can be difficult to do. NATP members can attend a free webinar that will explain the fee study, in depth, and outline how to strategically raise their fees without alienating clients.
